The Industry Calling for New Heroes – Pharma Quality Leaders

The 2023 edition of the international GxP-Profi awards, held by the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices and Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade with the support of the Eurasian Economic Commission, has been launched. The event is scheduled for 1 July – 30 November.

Last year, GxP-Profi created a real sensation in the industry with a total of over 20 projects submitted by participants from Russia, the EAEU and other countries. Of these our expert committee selected 10 best projects. Companies such as Akrikhin, Biocad, Valenta Pharm, Geropharm, Minskintercaps, Polysan, Sotex, R-Pharm, and Pharmasyntez all made it into the finals. The first prize was awarded to Akrikhin's Data Integrity. From Good to the Best! project. R-Pharm's Automation of Pharma Quality System Management came second, followed by Pharmasyntez's Utilities & Solutions for Manufacturing Hazardous Drugs in Compliance with the Current Regulations. The projects presented to the public at Pharmtech&Ingredients, the largest industry fair in Russia and the EAEU, caused a stir.
Faiza Yagudina, Quality Director at Akrikhin, considers GxP-Profi as a great challenge both for her project team and for the entire industry. 'First and foremost, GxP-Profi has helped us once again to reveal our potential and to bring about results. All in all, it has demonstrated what we are capable of', points out Faiza Yagudina.
According to Tatyana Vyazmina, R-Pharm's Quality Director, GxP-Profi has a particular importance for the industry as a whole because it enables all the Eurasian states to share their experience.
Valery Aristov, Pharmasyntez's Corporate Quality Director, believes that GxP-Profi, as a showcase of the most promising and effective innovations, helps to make pharmaceuticals safer and more accessible for consumers. 'This useful and exciting event will allow us to optimize the industry's key business processes, and to phase out inefficient solutions', says Valery Aristov.
The 2023 edition of GxP-Profi will be an even bigger event. It is expected to attract a greater number of participants and to draw more attention from both the professional community and the general public. This year's GxP-Profi coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices of Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade. The institute's goal is continuous improvement of product quality in the pharmaceutical industry. This resonates with the main objective of the awards, i.e. fostering the industry’s potential by developing and implementing innovations in order to improve quality in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The goals of the 2023 GxP-Profi include identifying the leading EAEU pharmaceutical manufacturers in terms of quality assurance, promoting the best innovative solutions in the industry, enhancing the image of the EAEU pharma companies, and boosting their competitive advantage in the global market.
The award is open to successfully implemented innovative solutions designed to improve the quality system in pharmaceutical manufacturing. These can be related to quality system optimization and streamlining of manufacturing processes. Possible areas include robotized, automated, computerized systems and approaches that increase productivity, innovation in equipment and technology, innovative staff policies, management solutions to fine-tune manufacturing quality systems, etc.
The 2023 qualifications will be held online from 1 July to 15 October. Applications are accepted here.
Each entry is judged based on the following criteria: how relevant the project is for quality assurance in pharma manufacturing, how innovative the solution is, whether it has been implemented at the production site with proven success, and whether it can be discussed publicly. Projects are reviewed by an independent expert committee featuring representatives of Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as Russia’s and the world’s leading industry experts. The results will be shared on the 27th of October.
The finals will be held as a hybrid event in November 2023. The winners will be decided on the basis of their presentation and discussion of the project.
We invite pharmaceutical companies to showcase their achievements, to claim authorship of their innovations, to get an independent expert review, to gain public recognition, and to enter to win a prestigious industry award. Your expertise in running a company dedicated to innovation in quality assurance will receive extended coverage in the professional community and the media. The organizers are planning a full-fledged PR campaign, with the finalists’ projects presented at the 2023 Pharmtech&Ingredients fair. The award ceremony will take place in early December at an official meeting of industry leaders, with the heads of Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade honoring the winning companies’ directors.
The main sponsors of the event feature Natsimbio, R-Pharm, and Sotex. The industry sponsors include the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Eurasian Economic Union, the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), the Union of Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations, and the APF National Association of Pharmaceutical and Medical Product Manufacturers.
