2023 GxP-Profi International Awards Showcased at UPPO Meeting

Together with the leaders and representatives of over 15 companies, all UPPO members, the event featured GxP-Profi organizers and the 2022 GxP-Profi winners and finalists.

At the online meeting with the members of the Union of Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations, UPPO Executive Director Liliya Titova and Communications Director Olesya Polyanskaya talked about the contribution of the Awards to the development of innovative quality assurance solutions and their integration into pharmaceutical manufacturing.
The presentation of the 2023 GxP-Profi awards was held by Prof. Irina Spichak, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Executive Director of the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices. She explained that the award is open to successfully implemented innovative solutions designed to improve the quality system in pharmaceutical manufacturing. These can be related to quality system optimization and streamlining of manufacturing processes. Possible areas include robotized, automated, computerized systems and approaches that increase productivity, innovation in equipment and technology, innovative staff policies, management solutions to fine-tune manufacturing quality systems, etc.
Irina Spichak pointed out that each entry is judged based on the following criteria: how relevant the project is for quality assurance in pharma manufacturing, how innovative the solution is, whether it has been implemented at the production site with proven success, and whether it can be discussed publicly. Projects are reviewed by an independent expert committee featuring representatives of Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as Russia’s and the world’s leading industry experts. The finals will be held as a hybrid event in November 2023. The winners will be decided on the basis of their presentation and discussion of the project. The award ceremony will take place in early December at an official meeting of industry leaders, where the heads of Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade will honor the winning companies’ directors.
As part of the presentation, the 2022 GxP-Profi winner Faiza Yagudina, Quality Director at Akrikhin, and finalist Yelena Izvekova, Head of Microbiology Laboratory at Sotex, shared their impressions.
According to Faiza Yagudina, although working on the project for GxP-Profi was hard, it turned out to be a crucial experience for the entire team. It offered them new knowledge and skills, and helped win their colleagues’ recognition. ‘Participation in GxP-Profi is a chance to analyze and systematize your company’s achievements, to reveal your potential and to get an independent expert review. The event inspires you to implement new exciting projects. At the same time, GxP-Profi is really important for the industry, because it serves as a platform for sharing expertise and promoting best practices across Russia and the EAEU’, says Faiza Yagudina.
As for Yelena Izvekova, participation in GxP-Profi both allowed her to test herself, and boosted her energy and motivation for further growth. ‘This year, Sotex’s Microbiology Laboratory has carried out yet another project and we are already working on a new one. With these small steps we are moving towards bigger changes and improvement, transforming quality into a true competitive advantage’, added Yelena Izvekova.
The 2023 qualification round will be conducted remotely until 15 October. Applications are accepted here
