VR Pharma Factory for Universities Tutorial at All-Russia GMP Conference

The tutorial was attended by over 30 pharma university teachers and master’s students.

This year, upon the initiative of the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices, pharma technology teaching staff was granted free access to the All-Russia GMP Conference for the first time. At the main GMP business platform they were able to learn about best practice and latest GP trends, and meet leading Russian and international pharma experts, representatives of authorities, leadership and specialists of pharma enterprises, and professional associations and communities.

A special tutorial on using VR Pharma Factory for Universities was held for teachers. This one-of-a-kind innovative solution was developed by the Academy in collaboration with the State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices.

Vladislav Shestakov, President of the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices, delivered a welcome address. Next, Prof. Irina Spichak, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Executive Director of the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices, and Lyubov Zasova, Deputy Executive Director for Education, demonstrated the features of VR Pharma Factory and the teaching materials for the module on solid dosage manufacturing process, using production of paracetamol tablets as an example. This virtual tour of a pharma manufacturer helped the participants get a closer look at weighing, mixing, granulation, and tablet pressing. They showed particular interest in hands-on activities, case studies and business games.  

The possibilities that the VR facility offers in training pharma, biotech, and chemistry students received high praise from the teachers. They were able to see how effective VR is when it comes to developing practical skills in pharma operations, tablet manufacturing, pharmaceutical quality systems, manufacturing logistics and storage.
